MCC organises online contests to commemorate Environment Day

Mangaluru: MCC to commemorate Environment Day with the theme ‘Our Sanitation workers are Our Sanitation leaders for their relentless service to keep our city clean, despite the pandemic.

MCC ultimately aiming to achieve this year’s theme for World Environment Day “Ecosystem Restoration” – Ecosystem restoration is a global undertaking at a massive scale. It starts with many small actions everyone can take, every day: growing trees, greening our cities, rewilding our gardens, or cleaning up trash alongside rivers and coasts.

MCC has invited all the citizens of Mangaluru to participate in the following online contests. All interested participants must compulsorily register their Name, Contact number in the following Google form https://forms.gle/qbWFsBgMoNeTF8Fs9
Entries will be open from 05.06.2021 (10:00 AM) to 15.06.2021 (5:30 PM)

STUDENTS ONLY CATEGORY – ESSAY WRITING

Topic is “What is waste segregation and why is it important?” the competition will be held in both English/Kannada. Word Limit is Maximum 500 words. Article can be sent handwritten (photo/scanned)/Word File/PDF File format to  mccmangaluru@gmail.com

Any student currently registered at any School, Colleges eligible for participation. Each participant can submit only one essay in either Kannada or English for the competition. Winner of the contest will be announced as‘Student Ambassador for Solid Waste Management’ for 2021-2022. Participants will receive E-Certificate as ‘Student Marshalls’ for Solid Waste Management 2021-2022

PHOTOSTORY CONTEST
Mobile Camera or Professional Camera allowed. Topics are 1. How to Segregate Waste, 2. My Waste My Responsibility, 3. Life of a Health worker without Segregated Waste

VIDEO/DOCUMENTARY OR SHORT FILM 1 TO 3 MINUTES
Mobile Camera or Professional Camera allowed. Topics are 1. How does unsegregated waste affect the environment?
2. How Unsegregated Waste Affects Sanitation workers? 3. Life of a Health worker without Segregated Waste

All the entries will be accepted from  05/06/2021 (10:00 AM) to 15/06/2021 (4:00 PM)

Wherever applicable participants agree that they will follow all COVID appropriate protocols while taking part in the online competition. Failure on the part of the participant(s) to abide by the COVID-19 guidelines during participation will result in disqualification. Multiple entries by the same candidate are accepted. Impersonation/plagiarism will not be tolerated. Inappropriate contentment will be disqualified, wherever necessary discarded or reported to the concerned authorities. Essay writing contest is only for the students. Photography and Videography contest is open for members of all age groups. Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses. The decision of MCC’s judging panel will be final and binding on all participants in respect to all matters relating to the contest. The winners will be personally intimated and notified through an announcement on the official page of MCC. The participants are aware and agree that their essay, photograph and videos submissions will be used by MCC to promote public awareness.
