Mangaluru: An old well was found underneath the Navbharath circle after its demolition.
The old well was covered by a concrete slab, which collapsed during the demolition work on Friday, June 11. It is said that well is over a century old.
Mayor Premananda Shetty visited the site and examined the spot.
The mayor previously stated that the circle is being demolished as part of the Smart City initiative since it was built without scientific consideration and traffic jams were typical in the area. He further stated that the circle would be reconstructed scientifically and that the name will not change.
