Mangaluru: API DK Chapter, in association with the Department of Medicine and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, held its state-level e-conference ‘E-CON API DK-2020’ for postgraduates and physicians on December 12.
Inaugurating the event, RGUHS Vice-Chancellor Dr S.Sacchidanand emphasised that knowledge is light and stressed on the importance of presenting research material in postgraduate medical education through online forums like e-conferences.
He congratulated the API DK Chapter and the Department of Medicine, FMMC for taking such an initiative, which is a first-of-its-kind. On the occasion of RGUHS celebrating its silver jubilee, he said that the students and postgraduates should gain maximum benefits through such learning activities.
Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Administrator, FMMC spoke on the importance of using technology in the Covid-19 era.
Dr J.P.Alva, Dean, FMMC also laid focus on the need for such educational programmes for postgraduate students; especially during a pandemic. The e-conference of the API DK Chapter was a part of the Physicians Day celebration.
Over 300 delegates from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Goa, Odisha, and Bihar have registered for this conference and more than 150 scientific papers will be presented during the period. The best research paper will be awarded.
Dr Venkatesha BM, President, API DK Chapter and Organising Chairman welcomed the gathering. Dr Archana Bhat, Organising Secretary E-Con API DK -2020 and Secretary API DK Chapter proposed a vote of thanks.
