Mangaluru: Crackdown on Waste Rule Violations in Ward 38
Mangaluru: Following the directive of the esteemed District Magistrate and under the dynamic leadership of our respected Commissioner, a surprise inspection was conducted today in Ward 38. The operation targeted individuals who failed to comply with waste segregation norms. For the first instance of violation, a monetary penalty of ₹5,000 was imposed as a warning. The authorities have made it clear that repeat offenses will lead to the cancellation of trade licenses and closure of the business premises.
The Commissioner also addressed the public through visual media, affirming his unwavering commitment to supporting his team in enforcing cleanliness norms. This proactive stance has brought great satisfaction to me and my team.
Going forward, such inspections will be carried out daily across all wards by the respective Health Inspectors. The Commissioner has empowered all Health Inspectors and Supervisors to immediately report any breaches of waste management rules to him directly. This measure aims to ensure stricter adherence and improved public hygiene.
Key officials who participated in today’s operation included Hon’ble Commissioner Mr. Ravichandra Naik, KAS, Health Inspector Mr. Bhaskara C., Sanitary Supervisor Mr. Lakshmana Navura, and Swachhata Supervisor Mr. Vasantha Kumar H. Also contributing to the efforts were the door-to-door waste collection team, including the vehicle driver and loaders of Ward 38, along with Revenue Officer and Zonal Commissioner (P) Mr. Vijay Kumar.
This joint operation marks a strong step toward a cleaner, more disciplined urban environment.
