Mangaluru Police Bust Drug Operation: MDMA Peddler Arrested with Narcotics
In a significant operation, the City Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested a drug peddler involved in the illegal transportation and distribution of MDMA from Bengaluru to Mangaluru. The police seized 27 grams of MDMA, valued at Rs 1,35,000, from the accused.
Acting on a tip-off, CCB officers conducted a successful operation near Nehru Maidan, within the Mangaluru South police station limits, where the peddler was caught selling the narcotic to the public and students.
The arrested individual, identified as 32-year-old Asif alias Achi, resides in Subhash Nagar House, Sajipamooda village, Naguri, Bantwal taluk. In addition to the 27 grams of MDMA, police also recovered a mobile phone and a digital weighing scale, raising the total value of the seized items to Rs 1,45,500.
