Bijapur, Chhattisgarh: In a chilling act of violence, Maoists allegedly strangled three villagers to death in Bijapur district on Tuesday, suspecting them of being police informers. The victims, all residents of Peddakorma (Nayapara) village, were reportedly killed using ropes.
According to Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav, the incident came to light late in the evening. “The village lies in a Maoist stronghold deep within the forest. As of now, the bodies have not been recovered,” he said.
Police condemned the act as a “cowardly attempt to spread fear” and claimed that such killings are part of a broader strategy by Maoists to intimidate and control tribal communities.
Further investigation is underway, and additional details are awaited.
