
Missing Auto Driver Found Dead in Well: Murder Suspected in Manjeshwara
In a disturbing incident, the body of a 59-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, who had been missing since April 9, was discovered in a well at Kunjathoor Padavu, within the Manjeshwara police limits of Kerala.
The deceased has been identified as Mahammed Sharief, a resident of K S Rao Nagara in Mulki. According to Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal, Sharief had left home around 10:30 am on April 9, operating his auto from the Kottara Chowki stand in Mangaluru. When he failed to return, his concerned family reported his disappearance to the Mulki police station.
Subsequently, Manjeshwara police officer Vinay Chandran alerted Mulki authorities that an abandoned auto-rickshaw was located in Kunjathoor Padavu. Sharief’s lifeless body was later found inside a nearby well, prompting the registration of a case at Manjeshwara police station.
Authorities suspect foul play, as early indicators suggest the possibility of murder. Manjeshwara police have launched a full investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Sharief’s death and identify any individuals involved.
The sudden and mysterious death has left the local community in shock, raising concerns about safety for transport workers operating in cross-border areas between Karnataka and Kerala.
