2 brothers arrested for misusing domestic LPG cylinders

Bantwal :  The District Crime Investigation Bureau sleuths  have unearthed a racket of misusing domestic LPG cylinders at Sajipanadu village and have arrested two persons on December 28, Saturday. The racketeers were transferring  LPG from the domestic cylinders to cylinders used in vehicles.

The arrested are Ashraf (35) and Naufal (20), both residents of Bastigudde and brothers. Police have also seized an Omni van, an autorickshaw, 14 domestic LPG cylinders, 14 cylinders used in vehicles, two filling machines and a weighing machine.

The raid was conducted under the direction of DCIB Inspector Basheer Ahmed. It is learnt, the accused were into this illegal business  in  their home since some time. Sources also said they were in constant touch with a private gas agency for the purpose.They were filling gas even in some cylinders which were considered unfit for use, said the police.

The accused and the seized goods have been entrusted to the custody of the Bantwal Rural Police who are conducting the investigations.
