Udupi: The JD(S) candidate for Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency and former union minister, Dhananjay Kumar, filed his nomination to DC Dr Muddu Mohan on Friday March 21.
While speaking to the media Dhananjay Kumar said, “In my political career I have always tried to understand the problems faced by the farmers and done my best to sort it out, I believe that my works will make me win this election”.
“Public wants change and they are fed-up of corrupt administration. Though JD(S) has less prominence in this constituency, I have confidence of winning with my experience and knowledge”, he added.
He also said that the basic issues faced by the people of Udupi and Chikmangalore are different and both BJP and Congress have failed to understand it.
Earlier when B S Yeddyurappa was elected as the president of the KJP, Dhananjay Kumar had joined him although as the regional party floated Dhananjay was not been taken back to the BJP for his alleged remarks on senior party leaders, thus he has now joined JD(S) .
District president Deviprasad Shetty, Madhu Bangarappa, H S Manjappa, Chikmagalur district president, Shalini Shetty and others were present.
