Hubballi: Duties of the Additional General Manager (AGM) of the South Western Railway (SWR) have now been taken over by Sunil Singh Soin who will also be holding the additional charge as the Chief Electrical Engineer, SWR.
An officer of the 1982 batch of the Indian Railway Services of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), Soin has held various important posts in the Indian Railways.
He has worked as Chief Electrical Engineer (Distribution/General Services/Construction) in the South Central Railway. Soin was Divisional Railway Manager, Nanded Division of the South Central Railway and Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Bilaspur of the South Eastern Railway.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Delhi University, Soin has also worked as Chief Workshop Manager of Multiple Unit (EMU), Periodical Overhauling (POH) Workshop, Mahalakshmi of the Western Railway.
Soin has undergone advanced training in the United Kingdom on ‘EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) Repairs and Maintenance’. In addition to this he has also attended a course on ‘Railway Policy and Management’ organised by the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) countries in South Korea in April 2010.
