Amit Khanna receives the First Dadasaheb Phalke Award for fashion photography

Mumbai: Avid Fashion photographer and award winning director, Amit Khanna received the first ever Dadasaheb Phalke award for his striking contribution to the fashion photography industry.
His undying passion and commitment for the past four years has led him to showcase his photography skills at celebrated platforms like Provogue Mr. India, Miss Diva, Femina Miss India, BCL, Campus Princess, Lakme Fashion Week, Wills, IIJW.

Amit has been associated with international brands like Starbucks for celebrity photoshoots and contributed to some of the hottest magazine shoots. His style has transformed fashion photography in India, and given it a global edge.

On winning the award, Amit Khanna said, “I started clicking photos at a very young age in and around shoots. One day my friend who’s a leading model IRIS MAITY made me realize that I have a real eye for photography and must pursue it. Today, I’d like to thank her for my achievement and I feel proud to have imbibed this skill within me.”

As a photographer, director, and writer he is a jack of all trades spreading his expertise across the globe. He has been invited to Cannes and NICE film festival of France in May 2016 as his short film, An untold story of Paperboats is receiving great recognition at such prestigious platforms.

His next stints include short films with issues that haven’t been touched upon before, a Webseries called Meri Girlfriend ka boyfriend, Season 2 for All About Section 377 and interesting fashion shoots.
