Tell us about yourself?

I am from Mangaluru. I am currently pursing my BCom final year at the Canara College. I studied in Canara School. I love dancing and it is my hobby. Dancing is my passion.

Was joining the film industry your dream?

Joining the film industry was not my dream. I was inclined towards films, but it was never my dream. When I was in degree, I started to work as a VJ for a local channel. I faced the camera for the first time and was very comfortable. My mother wanted to see me as an actress. She encouraged me to try my luck in films.

How were you approached for “Dabak Daba Aisa”?

I got news that ‘Chaali Polilu’ team were making a new film. They were in search of a new heroine. I went and gave a screen test. Luckily I got selected. My experience as a VJ helped me to face the camera without fear and pass the audition. I was very happy to be part of the team, which had given the biggest hit in Coastalwood. I consider myself lucky to be paired with Naveen Padil sir. He helped me a lot and is a wonderful co-star to work with.

What do you have to say regarding the piracy issue of your debut film?

I was shocked, when I came to know that our film was leaked. It is such a shame, that some people were trying to target our film. However people of Tulunadu proved their loyalty towards us. Our film has collected more than 50 lacs in the first week. It’s a record in Coastalwood, proving the love of audiences for a good film.

How has the response been for your film?

The response has been excellent. The film is running to packed houses. The critics have given good reviews for the film. Audience’s word of mouth has also been good. My role has been praised by everyone. All my classmates in college watched the film recently. They were very happy with my performance.

Which are your future projects?

I have a Tulu film in my hand. However I am not supposed to reveal anything about it. An official announcement regarding the same will be done soon. I am also getting offers from Kannada serials. However I want to concentrate on my studies now.

Which is your dream role?

I do not have a particular dream role. However I would prefer to act as a simple cultured girl.

Would you like to work in other industries other than Kannada and Tulu?

At present I have not planned anything. If I get good offer, I may think about it. I want to concentrate on my studies and Tulu films at present.

Who is your role model?

My parents are my role model. They have been my guide. They have always encouraged me and supported me. I am lucky to have such a wonderful support system.

What do you have to say to young girls who have to join film industry?

Working in film industry is not at all easy. Some people think that working in films is a cakewalk. There is lots of effort that goes into presence on screens. Girls should be very careful in films. Parents of girls should support and stand by them. Being bold and straight forward is important for girls to work in films.
