Revolutionary Shaheed Bhagat Singh remembered

Dharwad: The members of the district unit of All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO), All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), All India Mahila Sanskritika Sanghatane (AIMSS) remembered revolutionary Shaheed Bhagat Singh on the occasion of his 110th birth anniversary, by offering floral tributes at the martyrs pillar in Dharwad on September 28.

The members of these organisations demanded the Hubballi Dharwad Muncipal Organisation (HDMC) authorities to set up a statue of of Bhagat Singh in the city.
AIDYO Vice President Ramesh Hosamani, AIDSO District President Sharanu Gonawar who spoke on the occasion, recalled the rich contributions of Bhagat Singh to the country.

Singh who was influenced by the 1917 revolution led by Lenin had dreamt of forming a socialist country. His intention was to free India of all the social evils like poverty, inequality, illiteracy, unemployment and casteism among others.

Forming of a democratic movement based on high moral and cultural values is need of the hour, they said.

Madhulatha Goudar presided over. Members sang revolutionary songs on the occasion.
