Date : 12-11-2022

Koppal: MLA Paranna Munavalli said that ST reservation is necessary to bring the largest number of haalumata Kuruba Samaja in the State to the forefront educationally and socially.

He was speaking after participating in Kanakadasa Jayantyotsava at Sri Kanakadasa Circle in the Town. “Kanakadasa, who preached the message of universal humanity, tried to correct the distortions of the society through Dasa Sahitya in the 15th to 16th century. Everyone should walk in the ideals of such great men. He said that such a society of the Kuruba Samaja is very backward and needs ST reservation to come forward educationally and socially.”

He said, “for decades, the Halumata Kuruba Samaja has been fighting for ST reservation. The Department of Ethnographic Studies, Mysuru, has already toured all the districts and conducted ethnographic studies. The Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will soon take an appropriate decision. I will also meet the Chief Minister after leaving for Bengaluru and request him about ST reservation.”
