In the present conditions, we see that only some of the sporting events are being in the form as they are being financed and sponsored by many potential companies. Sports like cricket, football, volleyball and many others have been in the mainstream for many years. But now we see that the game of hockey is also being glorified in many ways.
The Indian hockey team had a great history in the Olympics and dominated the world of hockey for decades. But for some reason, the Indian hockey team could not hold its glory. The Indian team is regaining its old glory back as there is constant support from the government of Odisha towards it.
The government had agreed with Hockey India in providing sponsorship to both the Men and Women’s Hockey teams from 2018 to 2023. As it was done the Indian team saw tremendous growth in the quality and a permanent playground for regular practice. The government of Odisha also renewed the contract with Hockey India as the Indian hockey the team performed it’s the top in the Tokyo Olympics and extended it till 2033.
The constant support of the government of Odisha is the main reason for the development of hockey in India in recent decades. We see that the Government of Odisha has sponsored and boosted the confidence of the players in many ways both by providing monetary and moral support.
One step of the Government of Odisha has boosted the Game of Hockey in India. There is a demand that similarly, other states of the country should take up the initiative in supporting some of the games in India and by which in India we see that sports will be also one of the mainstream.
