Dharwad Sees the Third Murder Case in a Matter of Three Days

Date : 07-02-2024

Dharwad: Dharwad seems to be a place where the residents should now be on the alert with the third murder happening now in just a matter of three days, this one near a temple at the Navalur bridge where the body of a 65 year old woman was found to be lying in a pool of blood at 7.45 am this Monday.

This is the third murder case that the Vidyagiri police station saw within its limits, the last one being that of a youth on Sunday.

The police suspect this one to be the result of a property dispute as the deceased Kareawwa, was the owner of a large land of 1.2 acres which made up for 50 percent of the family’s property at Navalur.

Following the incident, Karewwa’s brother Suresh Venkappa Bagammmanvar went on to file a complaint with the police, who are now looking into the case.

The major suspects here are the deceased’s nephews Umesh Shankarappa Irabageri and Durusiddappah Maralepannavar.

Having lost her husband and her two sons, Karewwa sold a portion of the property and was managing the property alone. However, Karewwa’s nephew Umesh was dissatisfied as a result of a dispute that he saw with the adjacent land.

Police strongly suspect this dispute to be the cause for the murder. The injuries on Karewwa’s forehead and face clearly show that the death was the result of an attack.
