For Now, Let’s Focus on the Teacher and the Student

Date : 13-02-2024

School is a second home and teachers are our mothers, they say. This is regarding the recent case where a student in a classroom, on hearing a careless remark by a teacher went forward to raise a complaint.

Something in my heart says, if only, if only the student went forward to sort it out with the teacher, the teacher, who just like any parent, can make some mistakes, many mistakes and would at the end of the day, want to be forgiven.

But that was not meant to be. Sadly what we had here is a child who came forward to complain against her ‘parents’, only to further lose her trust in that very parent.

It is in the light of this incident that I would now like to focus on this very teacher aka parent. Will she be able to look on with the same love that she once had on this child aka student?

Of course, she will, for parents are parents, what with all their weakness. And yet, in another light, can the child who is now responsible for the miserable state of her teacher expect a blessing from this very parent?

Of course, she can, for again, children are children, what with all their mistakes and all, for somewhere deep down, something tells me that the child who went to her parents with this complaint never expected this to happen.

So in the end, there is just one picture that seems to cross my mind time and again. And that is of the teacher crossing paths with the child.

I just hope that amidst the chaos the two of them smile, the hurt teacher extends her blessing to the equally hurt student, the two of them have an amazing relationship together, and that at the end of the day, all is well.
