Chamarajanagar: A 34-year-old man named Kumar took his own life by hanging himself from a tree in the Hanuru area. Police suspect that his suicide was triggered by his frustration over his wife’s excessive focus on making Instagram reels.
Kumar, who worked as a coolie, was reportedly distressed by his wife’s constant engagement with social media, particularly her habit of creating and sharing reels on Instagram. Despite his objections, she continued with her online activities, leading to tension in their relationship.
According to Kumar’s brother, Mahadeva Swamy, the situation worsened when Kumar’s friends mocked him after seeing his wife’s reels, which also featured another man. This added strain to their already troubled marriage, resulting in frequent arguments between the couple.
Eventually, the situation escalated to a breaking point, and Kumar tragically took his own life. No suicide note was found at the scene, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and a case has been registered at the Hanur Police Station.
