International Women’s Day Celebrations by Stree Sanghatan at Omzoor Parish

On March 9, in honor of International Women’s Day, Stree Sanghatan of Omzoor Parish organized a joyous celebration. The event commenced with a Solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, the parish priest, and con-celebrated by Fr Rayan Pinto, OCD, with Stree Sanghatan leading the liturgy.

Following the church service, a vibrant get-together took place in Sabha Bhavan, kicking off with a prayer song. Vinaya Braggs, the president of Stree Sanghatan, Omzoor unit, warmly welcomed the gathering.

In his presidential speech, Fr Alwyn D’Cunha emphasized the significance of family life and the mental and physical well-being of women. The celebration continued with a variety of cultural and entertaining activities. The women participants, filled with enthusiasm, captivated the audience with beautiful dance performances, endearing dramas, and soothing group songs. Dafny Lewis orchestrated various spot games to engage the attendees.

The distinguished guests on the dais included Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, parish priest; Fr Rayan Pinto, OCD; Arthur D’Souza, vice-president of PPC; Dafny Lewis, secretary of PPC; Elroy Saldanha, coordinator of all church commissions; Vinaya Braggs, president of Stree Sanghatan; and Milli D’Souza, secretary of Stree Sanghatan.

The program was skillfully compered by Leena Braggs, while Milli D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Approximately 150 women from the parish actively participated in the program, contributing to the lively and festive atmosphere.
