Cincinnati (Ohio): Rags to riches, slavery to success, and fear to freedom is an unbelieve journey of this resilient man Harold Henry D’Souza a native of Bajpe, Mangaluru, today an international inspirational leader proclaimed globally.
Dr Lara Wilken and Tracy McGinley of Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and co-founders of Seeds of Empowerment invited Harold D’Souza at a mega conference: “Understanding the Intersection Between the Hospitality Industry, Community Resources, and Human Trafficking” organized at Kalahari Resort & Convention Center, Sandusky, Ohio on April 02, 2024.
Harold D’Souza addressed the colossal audience on identifying the red flags on labour trafficking, problems, resources, and solutions. Mapping survivors after one year, two years and five years. Ensuring they are on the right path of recovery, stability, freedom and not being re-victimized. Empowering survivors to thrive.
State Representative Josh Williams inspired the audience with his opening remarks. He is an incredible example of the power of persistence, hope, and determination. He went from a homeless high school dropout to an attorney, but there were a lot of challenges and obstacles along the way. As a State Representative, Josh is pursuing reform in all the areas that affect Lucas County residents most: workforce development, education, and criminal justice.
The four things to take away from Harold’s presentation were: Be Happy, Think Positive, Never Quit and Believe in Yourself.
Turning obstacles into opportunities. Harold D’Souza is a member of the Ambassador Advisory Council for the Ohio Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Commission, serves on the ‘Survivor Advisory Council’ with Collaborative to End Human Trafficking based in Cleveland and works as a ‘Consultant’ for various Government Projects to combat human trafficking in America.

His achievements will continue to inspire community members worldwide, as a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work, determination and passion.
