RCB to Don Green Jerseys for Away Game Against KKR

Date : 21-04-2024

Kolkata: In a surprising move, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be sporting their iconic green kit for their away game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, April 21st.

This is a must win game for RCB, as the Bengaluru team is at the bottom of the points table by winning only one out of seven matches they played.

Whenever, RCB players wear green jersey, it increases the heart rate of the fans. As the team won only 4 matches wearing the green outfit of the total 13 matches they played.

Traditionally, RCB has worn the green jersey for one select afternoon match during every IPL season, typically at their home stadium in Bengaluru. This year, however, they’re hoping for a change of luck by wearing the green jerseys in Kolkata.

RCB captains have also presented a plant as a memento to the opposing team’s captain during these green jersey matches, a tradition that will continue this year.

The green jersey is more than just a fashion statement for RCB. It signifies their commitment to environmental sustainability and serves as part of their “Go Green” campaign.

By wearing green, RCB aims to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire fans to adopt sustainable practices. They leverage the IPL’s massive viewership to promote their message of environmental responsibility.

RCB views environmental initiatives like the green jersey program as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. This demonstrates their commitment to social and environmental causes, aligning with responsible corporate values.

RCB’s green jersey matches often involve fan engagement activities focused on environmental awareness. These initiatives allow fans to participate in the team’s green efforts. Additionally, the green jersey serves as a unique identifier for RCB, setting them apart from other teams and enhancing their brand recognition.
