BJP MLC KP Nanjundi Resigns, Likely to Join Congress

Hubballi: BJP MLC KP Nanjundi submitted his resignation from his post on Tuesday. He visited Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti’s house in Hubballi to tender his resignation.

Addressing the media, after submitting resignation, Nanjundi stated that he aspired to be a voice for the backward communities but felt neglected within the party. He expressed his initial intention to enter politics to serve his community, but as merely an MLC, he felt limited in his capacity to bring about significant change. Therefore, he decided to resign from his post.

Nanjundi refrained from making any negative comments against the Prime Minister or senior leaders of the party. Instead, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided to him.

To recall, just a few days, KPCC president DK Shivakumar visited his house in Bengaluru and they both had an elaborated discussions over breakfast. It is now being speculated that Nanjundi who belongs to Vishwakarma community may join the Congress. Vishwakarma voters in the state are in large number and his inclusion in the Congress may boost it’s performance in the upcoming general election.
