Mangaluru: The people of Dakshina Kannada want a change this time, and the Congress party would conquer this seat after three decades, said Congress candidate Padmaraj Ramaiah.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, the Congress candidate said, the people of the constituency wanted a change, and the Congress party would win from this segment with a huge margin.
He said he and his party workers visited door-to-door to explain the achievements of the Congress and sought blessings. He said he did not engage in hate politics but tried to win the love and trust of the people.
The people of the constituency were fed up with the misrule of BJP; they seek votes by creating divisions between religions and by flaring up emotions, he charged.
He also claimed that the developments in the district only happened when Congress party MPs were elected. Those from the opposition tried to divide society on the lines of religion, disturbing peace and harmony.
Because of opposition parties’ division politics, the district has acquired a communal sensitive tag, hence no significant investment has come to the district, resulting in stalled employment generation, he alleged.
