In northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area, a tragic incident unfolded on Friday as a teenage boy, a few months shy of 18, allegedly shot and killed the mother of a 15-year-old girl from another community.
The boy, who had been harassing the girl and was angered by her relocation to a hostel, along with two accomplices, stormed the girl’s house at noon.
Despite attempts to seek help, the situation escalated when the boy shot the 35-year-old woman twice, resulting in her death at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital.
The perpetrators remain at large as police intensify efforts to apprehend them. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of women and the effectiveness of policing in addressing such crimes, prompting community meetings and heightened security measures in the area.
