More innocent lives that were shattered at the Pahalgam attack
On Tuesday, Prithviraj Jondhale had a casual chat with his neighbor, Hemant Joshi, suggesting a visit to the Ksheer Bhawani Mata Mandir in Kashmir. Just hours later, Jondhale was devastated to hear that Joshi, along with his cousins Atul Mone and Sanjay Lele, had fallen victim to a terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Joshi, aged 44, who worked as a senior executive at a private cargo company, had traveled to Kashmir with his wife Monica and their son Dhruv, 16, who had recently completed his SSC exams. Mone, a Central Railway employee, and Lele, along with their families, were also among the tourists caught in the attack. Tragically, all lost their lives.
Jondhale, who lived in the same building as Joshi, remembered him as a calm and affable person, always willing to resolve disputes in their society. Neighbors and friends, like Dr. G N Pachpande and Ravi Kumar Nadar, spoke fondly of Joshi’s lighthearted nature and generosity.
Dhruv, the son of Joshi, first reassured the neighborhood by sending a message that his family was safe, only for the tragic news to follow soon after. The bodies of the victims will be brought back to Maharashtra, where family and friends will pay their respects.
The loss has left the community in deep sorrow, with many calling for swift retribution against those responsible for such heinous acts.
