Hassan: Sr. Susheela B. S. MA, B.Ed (9th Rank in Karnataka State), retired in 2014, as a teacher of St. Mary’s High School, Arasikere, Hassan and since then teaching part-time at St. Joseph’s High School, K. R. Nagara, Mysuru passed away on Saturday November 26.
Sr. Susheela joined Bethany in 1974 and took up her first profession in 1975 to 77. She has served as a teacher at St. Michael’s School, Dandeli (1977-79), St. Joseph’s School, Sagar (1979-84), Loyola School, Gadag (1986-88), Gulabi High School, Bangalore (1988-89) Social work-non formal education, Doddaballapur, rural set up (1989-91), St. Mary’s High School, Dahanu, Mumbai (1991-95), Nirmala High School Karwar as HM (1995-96), St. Martha’s High School, Mudigere (1996-2004), Loyola College, Gadenahally, Hassan (2004-2007), St. Martha’s High School, Chikkamagalur (2007- 2009).
Remembering, teacher Sr. Susheela her student, Moditha S. from Arsikere, said “I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.” Dear Sister, Thank you for holding on to me through the stormy days. Thanks for being a shoulder to cry on during sad times. Thank you so much for all the teachings and most best thing the moral values you have given to me. My heart goes out to you. I will always cherish the loving memory of you. Thinking of you and hoping you Rest In Peace. Mothers never truly leave us. I know you will be there with us.”
Another student, Sumanth expressed, “I am so devastated. I am so lost. Sr. Susheela was my teacher since nursery. Her last message to me was on Children’s Day. She was a great teacher, an excellent human being and a lovely person. I am going to miss her forever.”
