Mother-son duo brutally murdered; killers arrested for homicide within hours
Navi Mumbai Police swiftly apprehended two 19-year-old killers involved in the brutal killings of a 70-year-old woman and her 45-year-old son in Kamote. The double homicide was solved within 24 hours of filing a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Geeta Bhushan Jaggi and her son Jitendra were discovered lifeless in their Sector 6 residence in Thane on Wednesday. Initial investigations revealed that Jitendra had invited two acquaintances, Sanjyot Mangesh Dodke and Subham Mahindra Narayani, to a New Year’s Eve gathering at his home.
According to authorities, after consuming alcohol, Jitendra allegedly made inappropriate advances toward the guests. This provoked an altercation, leading the accused to assault him with an extension cord. They later strangled Geeta when she tried to intervene.
The culprits fled the scene, stealing mobile phones, a purse, a tablet, and jewelry from the victims’ home. Relatives who visited the residence later that evening found the door locked from the inside and contacted police. Upon gaining entry, officers discovered the house filled with LPG gas fumes, with the victims’ bodies lying in the bedroom.
Based on a tip-off, the police tracked and arrested Dodke and Narayani in Ulwe. The stolen items were recovered, and both accused were taken into custody for further interrogation.
This shocking crime highlights the dangers of misplaced trust and the importance of vigilance.
