Mysuru: Everyday grocery kits for locals and orchestra artists in distress from Lockdown have been distributed by the Yuva Morcha of BJP’s Narasimharaja Assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Yuva Morcha president D. L. Lohit of the BJP’s Narasimharaja Assembly constituency said, “Artists have a hard time making a living during lockdown.” Daily wagers too earn a living in the face of a lockdown. But for artists to make a living, there should be art and cultural programmes, religious and car festivals, devotional song gatherings, and weddings among others, which is not happening. Thus, it has become difficult to make a living, he noted.
Grocery kits are being distributed to hard-hit theatre artists and orchestra artistes. Artistes should be doing well and hence we must help artistse who entertain everyone. He said it was everyone’s duty to respond to the difficulty.
Speaking on the occasion, Velu, General Secretary of the Narasimharaja constituency said that Yuva Morcha’s service to the artistes is commendable, as it is essential to provide groceries for month-long rather than a day’s meal. He hoped that Morcha’s such service continues.
