Mysuru: A handicraft exhibition will be organized at JSS Mysore Urban Haat in the city from March 26 to April 11, to promote the handloom products and to prevent these handicrafts prepared by the weavers and weavers' co-operatives from becoming too market oriented.
This exhibition is being organised by the Ministry of Textiles of Delhi (Handloom) in association with Bengaluru department of Handloom and Textiles and Karnataka State Co-operative Handloom Weavers' General Assembly. Weavers who rely on handicrafts are coming together under one roof to create a market to encourage those who live by this craft.
The exhibition will include products from Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Orissa, Haryana, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and various districts of South India, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Karnataka. More than 50 weavers and weaver’s cooperatives will take part in handloom products made from Mandya, Ramanagara, Bengaluru city, Bengaluru countryside, Tumkur, Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Gadag, Bagalkot, Gulbarga and Ilakal.
In addition, patola saris, bandini sarees, embroidered bed sheets, towels, cushion covers, eco-friendly jewelry, dress materials, earthenware, beadwork, metalwork, kurti, chania choli, bandini and other handicrafts and other handicrafts will also be part of this exhibition.
Another specialty of this exhibition is that all the ingredients are delivered directly from the manufacturer to the customer.
