Mysuru: Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri’s family (husband, parents and in-laws) have tested positive for coronavirus though she tested negative after the RT-PCR test.
The Deputy Commissioner had taken all the precautionary measures which could be one of the reasons for her being negative. All her family members are under home quarantine. Despite the family issues, Sindhuri has given a few tips to the public on how to stay safe.
“District is seeing a spike in the number of cases, it has become tough for the district administration to provide proper medication. With the shortage of beds and oxygenated beds, online counselling of patients has begun. If anyone tests positive and if the symptoms are mild, he or she can be treated online. The first five days after testing positive are crucial and medication is important during this period.”
“Covid-19 patients in home isolation need to strictly follow guidelines issued by experts. All the medicines should be taken as per their prescription,” she said.
She added that if the patients feel they like are not able to bring the situation under control, they need to contact the experts again. Patients are advised to take steam at least three to four times a day and gargle their mouths with saltwater periodically.
