‘Teachers wish to see students fare better than them’

Dubai: The 39th episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was held on Friday September 9 at 6.30 pm IST.

The guest teacher for the evening was Nalini Kamath, Teacher. The special guests of the evening were her students, Ranjan Hegde, Project Engineer, United Arab Emirates, Chaitra Sontakke, Curriculum Head (Hindistani Vocal), Shankar Mahadevan Academy, Dr. Sazeena, Dentist, Saudi Arabia, Sushma Moodbidri, Screenplay Writer,(Freelancer), Zee Kannada, Akshatha M., Teacher, Alva’s Education Foundation.

The event host was Kiran Nirkan.

Through teacher-student interaction, the series strives to highlight teachers and their impact on students. The programme will be premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Kiran Nirkan introduced the guests and welcomed them.

Teacher Nalini Kamath reminisced the initial days of her career while sharing her memories with students.

Student Chaitra Sontakke expressed, “From school days till today, Nalini ma’am is our pride and a constant support.”

“Whoever we get connected to, we search motherly warmth with them. One such connection is Nalini ma’am to us,” shared Sushma.

Dr. Sazeena, “The credit for the successful life I lead today goes to my teachers.” Dr. Sazeena also recalled the incidents as a student where she was supported by Nalini ma’am and emphasised the investment on education.

Ranjan Hegde said, “Nalini teacher would text me at least twice a week until the Covid second wave ended. I have never seen such a loving and caring teacher in my life,” he said.

Akshatha expressed, “Teacher is an example for the optimum utilisation of resources in spite of least facilities available at government schools.”

Teacher Nalini Kamath speaking on the teacher student bond said, “Every teacher wishes to see her students fare better than her.”

Both teacher and students appreciated the initiative of NewsKarnataka in strengthening teacher student bond.
