‘Teaching within four walls of classroom is not sufficient’

Dubai: The 41st episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was held on Friday September 23 at 6.30 pm IST.

The guest teacher for the evening was Anand Poojary, Teacher. The special guests of the evening were his students, Chetan Kharvi, Medical Representative, Udupi, Subrahmanya, Finance Officer, Bengaluru, Sowmya S., Assistant Teacher, Rajesh, Headmaster, Valmiki Ashrama School, Byndoor, and Ashwini Raghavendra Shenoy, Teacher (Own Coaching Institute), Puttur.

The event host was Kiran Nirkan.

Through teacher-student interaction, the series strives to highlight teachers and their impact on students. The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Teacher Anand Poojary reminiscing the path of his growth said, “I understand people’s hunger as I grew up in poverty. I had to go to school only after the work at agricultural land. My entire school and college life was spent in poverty,” he recalled.

‘For my students after their parents I am the next person to share their success with and I am happy about it,” he expressed.

Subrahmanya shared, “Only a teacher, writer, infant and a pen can change the world and that change in our lives is Anand sir.”

Anand sir has instilled value education and life skills in our life, shared Ashwini Raghavendra along recalling the motivation by the teacher in her career path.

Sir has spared major part of his personal life towards the well being of his students and his service towards the students of this society is immense. Anand sir is an example for a model teacher who is the reason behind the success of his students, expressed Rajesh.

Sowmya S. shared, “It was because of sir I got to know about my talent. If a girl who was scared to face ten students in the class has grown up to the level of teaching a class of 50.students its because of Anand sir, she said expressing gratitude.

Chetan Kharvi describing the quality of the teacher shared, “Sir never took reward for his efforts. He always carried his hardwork and efforts within him and today he is reaping its results.”

Teacher Anand said, “I didn’t enter this profession with passion but I started loving it. For a teacher it is not enough to be taught within four walls. But he has to know the background of every student.”

Both teacher and students appreciated the initiative of NewsKarnataka. Kiran Nirkan expressing gratitude signed off.
