‘One should not go behind awards’

Mangaluru: Series of programmes are organised as well as are launched to celebrate decennial year of NewsKarnataka. This is the organisation’s way of thanking the Kannadigas all over the world for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to be a force to reckon with today.

The first episode of Sadhakara Yashogaathe premiered on Wednesday January 4, 7.30 pm is a Kannada talk show, meaning the Tale of Achievers. This show celebrates achievers who are mostly from diverse fields. The programme was aired on Wednesday.

The guest of the second episode aired on January 11 at 7.30 pm was Dr. Sadanand Poojary renowned Urologist, Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru. The anchor person for the programme is Rajendra Kalbavi, Executive Director, Dakshina Kannada Nirmiti Kendra, Surathkal.

The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s YouTube Channel.

Dr. Sadanand Poojary shared his experience being a Secretary of IMA and the works undertaken under it which included medical, literature and environment-concerned fields.

Expressing the response of friends and family he shared, “In general it is stated that, one should not go behind awards. But when I received one indeed everyone were happy along with sharing the success story of Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru being the number one Dialysis Centre.

Hailing from rural background and having got medical seat with merit was the greatest achievement. And so I received encouragement on joining the medical field along with scholarships to do my studies, shared Dr. Sadanand Poojary reminiscing his entry into the field.

In comparision to private field, in Government not only can we help one in need but can also improve our own skills when performing nearly thirty surgeries in a week with a good pay scale.

As an advice to the youth entering to the medical field Dr. Sadanand Poojary said, “Do not enter the field if money-making is the only intention. Indeed money is the necessity but medical field is also one of the field to serve the society and so join with service mindset and not money-making”.
