Notorious thief caught in Raichur with loot worth nearly ₹8 lakh
A well-known house burglar, Viresh from LBS Nagar in Raichur, has been taken into custody by the Raichur Rural Police for a series of thefts committed across the district.
Officers managed to seize stolen items valued at approximately ₹7.89 lakh from Viresh’s possession. Among the recovered goods were 76 grams of gold jewellery, 382 grams of silver articles, along with wristwatches, cameras, and various other valuables.
Viresh had a long record of involvement in multiple burglary cases spread across different police station limits, including Manvi, Sindhanur, and Raichur Rural areas. His arrest has brought relief to several victims of recent break-ins, and the case has uncovered the extent of his criminal activities.
Authorities confirmed that efforts are underway to track down additional individuals who may have aided Viresh in carrying out the robberies. Investigators believe that a larger network could be involved, and more arrests are expected soon.
Superintendent of Police, Puttamadaiah, lauded the efficient police team for their dedication and prompt action. As a token of appreciation, the officers who cracked the case were formally felicitated and rewarded.
The arrest has not only led to the recovery of stolen assets but has also helped reduce fear in the community, which had witnessed a spike in home burglaries.
