Dubai: The monsoon-like downpour brings immense relief to the people in the United Arab Emirates as summer heatwave temperatures have surpassed 120F.
According to the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM), cloud seeding operations to increase rainfall in the Gulf country aided the precipitation.
On Sunday July 18, the UAE’s national weather service released video footage of the heavy downpours.
The country has been testing with drones that fly directly to the clouds and deliver the electric charge to air molecules. This also has helped in rainfall.
Middle-Eastern countries receive only four inches of rain on average and the cloud seeding techniques are part of a larger mission to increase precipitation.
