Oman: The Bunts Community hailing from the south western region of India, has its presence in Oman for over four decades. The Formation of the bunts community gathering started during the year 1987 and ever since its inception, the community gathering in Oman has strived in bringing all the community members of Coastal Karnataka together, encouraging potential talents, promoting socio cultural events with a goal of preserving its cultural heritage . Today, they can proudly say that they are one of the progressive NRI Indian communities in Oman.
To commemorate their 28 years of togetherness in Oman, the organizing team of the Bunts of Oman is planning a dazzling sports day and an exciting family get-together event, titled as ”Buntara Vaibhava 2015” showcasing the grandeur of Bunts and their extraordinary cultural Heritage.
Speaking to News Karnataka, KrishnaPrasad Shetty, Media coordinator of ”Buntara Vaibhava 2015” organizing committee, said, “We, the organizing team members of the ‘Buntara Vaibhava 2015’, have put lot of efforts and planning of many days to present this annual event. Our Bunts culture and heritage will be highlighted during the event. This annual event will be an opportunity for all Bunts in Oman to meet their fellow community members under one roof and share their experiences and joy with each other. On behalf of the organizing committee, I request all Bunts in Oman to come together and be part of the event.”
The sports meet will be held on two consecutive Fridays. The first sports day will be a Men’s only cricket event which will be held on October 9, 2015 at the Ghubra Power and desalination Company grounds (GPDCO), Al Khuwair from 7 am to 6 pm.
The Family sports day will be held on October 16, 2015 at the Wadi Kabir sports complex grounds from 7 am to 8 pm. Apart from volley ball and ladies throwball, there will be exciting fun games for all age groups.
The annual Bunts cultural event will be held on November 13, 2015 at the Le Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel, Ruwi from 8.30 AM to 8 PM.
