Dr Veerendra Heggade releases Karnataka Today’s “Legends of Karnataka” at VTS Dubai

Dubai: Karnataka has a plethora of historical secrets and towering personalities that have contributed to its development, both economic and social, its exuberant art and culture, and in general to humanity and science.

These personalities have shaped Karnataka into what it is – a state that everyone wants to holiday, live and do business in. We, the Karnataka Today team at Spearhead Publications Pvt. Ltd call them the “Legends of Karnataka”.

Karnataka Today – the print arm of the Spearhead Media Group compleated three years of publications this November 2018 and as we enter the fourth year of publication of our monthly English Magazine we thought it fit to celebrate the achievements of these Legends of Karnataka for a wider understanding of their work. This we intend to go through a series of Karnataka Today branded all colour special editions on each of these Legends. These booklet publications are intended to spread the good word about good deeds of these personalities.

We begin the “Legend of Karnataka” series with Dharmadhikari Padma Vibhushan Dr D Veerendra Heggade. Dharmaadhikari, Reformer, Educationist, Philosopher and Philanthropist, Dr Veerendra Heggade is a multi-dimensional individual. However, what truly defines Dr Heggade’s contribution is his determined and consistent service to the state and indeed the nation. In the last 47 years as Heggade of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, he has initiated multiple pioneering social, economic and cultural projects for the development of the Society. He has converted small towns into modern educational hubs. He has redefined the very role of a temple from being a place of worship to a place of service. He has revived ancient sciences to further enhance modern lifestyles.

The inaugural special editions of the series on Dharmadhikari Shri Veerendra Heggade was published in time for his 70th birthday on November 25th and was released at the ‘Vishwa Tulu Sammelana 2018’ on November 23 at Al Nasr Leisure Land, Dubai by Dr Veerendra Heggade himself. Chief Guest, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Abdul Salam Puttige, Director of Madhyama Communications, Bishop of Bellary Diocese Rev Dr Henry D’Souza, CSI Priest Rev Father Ebenezer Jathanna, Dr Mohan Alva, Gurukiran and other guests were present.
