Dubai: The Catholic Cricket Cup 2015 was indeed a full day of camaraderie, fun, and entertainment at its best and it came to a close with winners, ‘The Fliperz’ beating the St. Mary’s Mangalorean Community (SMMC) in a convincing style.
Organized by HSI Events Management, a Dubai based event Management Company, the event saw a turnout of over 600 people through the entire day. This included players from 30 different teams across the Emirates.
InSportz Club, their venue partners conducted the box cricket game, which had custom rules and regulations based on the tournament format. The tournament also had a plate division, which was a division for all those who got knocked out in the first round, thus encouraging the teams to continue their journey in the tournament, giving them hope for another chance at winning.
As the day panned out, the folks who weren’t playing were kept on their toes by the DJ and the emcee who got them hooked on to the spot prizes that were given away.
At the presentation ceremony, eminent dignitaries of the Catholic Community were present, including Aneel Aranha, CEO of HSI Events Management, Joseph John- MD, RonsEnviro Care LLC, & Joyce Joseph – MD, Eat & Treat LLC; the primary sponsor partners of the Event.
Some others who also graced the event were Fr. Robert Lasrado of the St. Mary’s Dubai Catholic Church and Lancy Aranha – MD, The One Electromechanical; sponsors of the CCC 2015 Trophies.
Excitement was in the air till the very last moment as the winning teams revealed their winning streak.
The results:
The CCC 2015 Tournament Winners were Fliperz, and Runners Up: St. Mary’s Mangalorian Community. The Plate Division Winners were Sharjah Spartans, and Runners Up: Konkan Yuva
The Best Bowler prize was awarded to Rajesh Fernandes of Fliperz while the best batsman prize went to Nigel Rodrigues – St. Mary’s Mangalurian Community. Platinni Colasso, of ‘RAK Challengers’ was awarded the Man of the Tournament.
The players were elated by the tournament format and the organization of the event and are now looking forward to the next tournament.
The Catholic Cricket Club event was well organized and a day very well spent for one and all, be it the players, cheerers or organizers.
