Abu Dhabi: The Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi together with the Consulate General of India, Dubai celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with great fervour. Live streaming of the inauguration of the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra (PBK) by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi was screened and watched with keen interest by the expatriate Indians and others.
Neeta Bhushan, Charge d’ Affaires briefly addressed the gathering. School children sang Bhajans in praise of Gandhi. The program included paying floral tributes to the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi by His Excellency Anurag Bhushan, the Consul General of India, Neeta Bhushan, Charge d’ Affaires and Eminent Indian Personalities. A large number of members of the diplomatic corps, media, Indian community and representatives of various associations of expatriate Indians attended the function.
Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra has stood for the benefit of 27 million Non Resident Indians and People of Indian Origin all over the world. PBK will also act as a focal point for all those who are still searching for their roots in India.
