‘Gulf Voice of Mangalore-season 4’ audition held

Qatar: The audition of GCC Konkani Singers title ‘Gulf Voice of Mangalore-season 4’ was held here at Ashoka Hall, ICC Qatar, organised by Mangalore Cultural Association, a non profit community group of mangalorean Christians in Qatar.

President Arthur Pais welcomed the gathering and wished all the best for the participants. The program began with ‘Mojhe Sangeeth’ song sung by renowned singer Preema Pinto. Preema is a runner-up of GVOM – season3 in female category.

Talented Konkani singers sang different Konkani album songs which enthralled the audience. The Judges Panel board included of Rev. Fr.Anand Castelino, Veena Rebimbus Pais & Marius Pereira. Seven male and six female singers entered into the semi final round; which will be conducted on 26th September at DPS School Al-Wakrah.

Former secretary Benjamin Alfred briefly introduced the Judges of the Day to the audience. Rev. Fr.Anand Castelino, OFM of our lady of Rosary church Qatar and also a degree holder in music from Trinity College London. Other two Judges Veena Rebimbus Pais is renowned singer and lyricist, has sung many songs in Albums and is familiar to Mangaloreans; and Marius Pereira, a Choir master, musician and has trained many students. MCA Vice president Jason quadros honoured the Judges.

President Arthur Pais escorted the founder & Advisory committee members Wilfred Fernandes and Felix Lobo to the Dias. All the participants were awarded with Participation Certificates. Later on cultural secretary Aloysius D’souza announced the results.

Lady Coordinator Wilma D’souza proposed vote of Thanks. Charismatic & Talented M.C. Sandeep Noronha compered the whole program. Neil Dsouza, Remy Dsouza, Prathap menezes, Kirthan Rodrigues & Pradeep menezes supported the singers with guitar.

The Semi finalists  are

Male Category: Fregwin Kevin Dsouza, Christian Dsouza, Alphonso D’silva, Remy Dsouza, Naveen Pinto, Naveen Dsouza, Harry Correa.

Female Category: Eva Wilma Pinto, Sana Britto, Nina fernandes, Jovita Pereira, Carren Correa & Parmeela Monteiro.

Meanwhile President Arthur Pais announced MCA’s upcoming event ‘Voice Workshop-5’ on 27th June at Wyndham Hotel-Doha.
