Qatar, April 7: Karnataka Sangha Qatar kicks off its 5th Soft Ball Floodlight Cricket tournament here on April 6th 7PM at Old Indian Ideal School. The event was colorful with great vigor and pomp and participation of a huge enthusiastic audience. The line of procession held with camels, horses, Harley Davidson bikers & melam following with guest of honors.
KSQ president Deepak shetty escorted the Chief Guest Capt. Ravi Kumar & Guest of honour Mr. Eisa Ali Ghanem to the stage. Head of Doha Bank Mr. David Dougan, Mr.Mansoor of QCA, MD of ALMA Mr.Ghazi, Almuftah GM & KSQ past president Mr.V.S.Mannangi, Mr.Chidanand, Mr.Satish & ICBF President Kareem Abdulla, Nagesh Rao were also presided over the Dias along with chief guest. President Deepak Shetty addressed the welcome note.
The event was inaugurated with a unique concept of lighting the torch. The Torch was lit by the Cricket Coordinator Dr.Sanjay Kudri and then carried forward to cricket team captains finally reaching to the Chief Guest and followed with release of Balloons declared opening of Cricket Tournament.
KSQ sports secretary Anil Boloor compere the Oath taking ceremony to Cricket Teams and program was followed with Cheerful Dance from Children’s.
BSQ president Mr.Ravi Shetty, Tulukoota President Mr.Seetharam Shetty, Mr.Asmath Ali Khan, Mr. Sudheer Kumar, Mr.Prakash Agila Mrs. Akshatha Hegde and MCC president Mr.Sunil D’silva were present on the occasion.
Sports Secretary Anil Boloor gave out Vote of Thanks. The event was beautifully compered by S K Naidu, HK Madhu, Shilpa Mannangi, Mahesh Gowda, Hema Lakappa, Sandesh Anand, Akshaya Shetty, Zafar Abbas, HK Patil and Sunil Kamalaksha. Tasty Breakfast was served by Royal Udupi and special lucky draw contest was kept to the spectators.
The first match was declared between M Pallonji v/s Petrofac and second match between Mashraf Al Rayan and Qatari Diar, in that Petrofac & Qatari Diar won matches respectively.
The tournament Semi-final & final matches will be played on 16th & 17th April 2014 and Indian Cricketer Mr. Subramanium Badrinath will grace the Occasion.
