Manama / Bahrain: An Indian national is living with his three-year-old daughter in the public park here since over 6 months, a miserable situation indeed.

Mohammed Sikander Samart and his daughter Sara are living miserably in parks, car and mosques since November 2012.  Mohammed Sikander had sent his wife and other two children back to India.

Sara was withheld by immigration officials from travelling along with her mother, since she had no separate passport.  Samart had invested Bahraini Dinars 65,000 in a business and suffered losses, it’s learned.

“I have sent my wife and two children back to India about 6 months ago, because I could no longer support their living.  My business was running profitably till 2009 where I suffered losses.  I was importing marble and supplying it to a Bahraini trader who issued cheques for all the supplies.  However, the cheques issued by him were bounced one after the other.  He agreed to clear my dues in installments that he has not done at all,” revealed Samart.

“I rented a small room in an apartment at Hoora, and its difficult to live since the water and electricity connections were sapped.   I owe Bahraini Dinars 1,000 as accumulated rents.  The landlord is humane did not demand rent so far.  I have been living in park, friends car and mosques since 6 months,” said Samart.

“Once a while I go to my room, but mosquitoes menace is too much that is disturbing Sara.  I spend my night in park and return to mosque as it opens at 3.00am,” said Samart.
