Dubai: A likeminded team of UAE’s konkani poets presented a event named ‘Kavitha Bhonvar’ a day filled with poems, dance, singing and discussion about konkani proms at Dynatrade regency community Hall here in Al Quises on Dec 4.
The program was inaugurated by pouring different colors into water pot as a symbol of different formats of Konkani literature forms. Mr. Ronald Shabi Dsouza, Mr. Toni Niddodi, Mr. Wilfred Fernandes, Mrs. Leena Fernandes, Ms. Preema Redrigues, Mr.Santhosh Dsouza, Mr. Naveen Sequira and chief coordinator of the Kavitha Bhonvar Mr. Sannu Monis participated in inaugural ceremony.
Well-known Konkani poet and review writer Mr. Nanu Marol presented his views about Konkani poems and its present situation with respect to readers, writers and editors. He given many poem examples and said hundred words can be explained in one line poem in better way. He concluded his speech by saying everybody must try to follow his own identity because each person is having different talent and different view angle.
The special attraction of the program is presenting five famous poems of different poets in acting form. Talented members of Team Sparsh – Darrel, Melwyn, Rohan, Sandeep and Nisha were presented a theme based act and narrated the five poems in beautiful way. The act was appreciated by all audience and few poets wished them a great success ahead.
As a part of entertainment, famous Konkani songs were sung by talented local artists. Ms. Preema Rodrigus, Mr. Robin, Mr. Presilla Rodrigus and others presented melodius Konkani numbers for the music of Mr. Arun Karlo.
The Konkani traditional art form Gumtam was presented Mr. Wilson Pinto and team. Gumtam is the tradional art form of Konkani community which was sung by past Konkani people during their free time for entertainment.
The main part of the program is literary meet. It was held under the leadership of Mr. Sannu Monis. Talented young and old peots presented their poems and these poems highly appreciated by audience. Mr. Antony, Mr. Wilson Pinto, Mr. Joy Lobo, Mr. Ronert Udyavar, Mr. Robert, Mr. Floyd Kiran, Mr. PJ Kagalnade, Mr. Wilfred, Mr. Suresh and Mr. Lloyd Rego along with Mr. Sannu Monis presented their poems.
Mr. Godwin compared the program. Mr. Sannu Monis thanked each and every one for making Kavitha Bhonvar a great success.
