KCO elects Valerian Dalmaida as its new president

Abu Dhabi : A dynamic community leader Valerian Dalmaida has been elected as the new president of Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO) – the premier Konkani organization of Abu Dhabi for the year 2013 – 2014, during its Annual General Meeting held on Friday November 29th.

Valerian Dalmaida, B.com graduate from Mysore University, a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a Certified Support Manager from California, USA . He is currently working as Group Head of Support Services at Al Ain Holding LLC.

He is a popular community leader, a good organizer, speaker and a social worker. His contribution towards Abu Dhabi’s Konkani community is immense. He has been a dedicated worker, his leadership qualities, experience and charisma will surely help heighten KCO’s popularity and meet its challenging social commitments in the coming years.

He has been a member of KCO for several years and had been the General Secretary for the tenure 2012 – 13. His hard work and dedication won Valerian the maximum number of votes, as he was declared the president for the forth coming year. He is associated with various other organizations in the UAE  such as Abu Dhabi Chapter of ICAI, Konkani Prayer Group at Abu Dhabi, Emirates Suratkal Parishioners Association at Dubai and Daivik Amruth – a Monthly Magazine at Mangalore Diocese.

Leena D’souza and Praveen Serrao were elected as general secretary and treasurer respectively during the occasion. Leena, is an Educationist , B.A, B. Ed. Post graduate, and has been working with Abu Dhabi Indian School for the past 23 years and is currently a trainee at Abu Dhabi Educational Council for Special Education needs .

 

Praveen, a B.com graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and an MBA from Washington University,  has been working with a well known company in Abu Dhabi as Assistant Finance Manager. Both of them are active members of KCO and have proven their abilities within the organization by strengthening KCO and its activities.

The other office bearers selected by the new executive body include :

Vice President – Inez D’Cunha,  Assistant Secretary – Claudia Lobo, 

Entertainment Secretary – Benette D’Mello,  Sports Secretary – Vivek Serrao,

Public Relations & Media Coordinator – Canute Pinto, Hon. Auditor – Franklin D’Cunha,

Advisors – Leo Rodrigues, Dolphy Vas and Micheal D’ Silva.

KCO known for their excellent organizational potential have veterans in this field and committed members who have the knowledge and ability to show case any event both religious and cultural.
A prominent association that has worked for the welfare of the community in UAE, KCO has been growing in popularity year after year. It has become a household name both in the UAE as well as in India. They are involved in various social, cultural and religious activities in Abu Dhabi.
