Dubai/Sharjah: Konkan Yuva, Dubai organized a unique event for Khel Mel 2.0, Challenge Hunt, providing a fun-filled event that added another feather to their cap. A competitive treasure hunt game, which tests the physical and mental strength of the participants, was held on November 27.
The beautiful weather undoubtedly encouraged the participants to get into the fun mode and enjoy the week off in a very sporty manner.
Over 30 teams participated in the event: Bounty Hunters, One For All, Lilcy Challengers, The Three Musketeers, Tornadoes, Desert Dudes, Matthikatte Gems, Win or Booze !!!, VLF, Voilo Wado, Cool Boys, Flippers, The Chinipoklis, Bondel Eagles, Lilcy Challengers-2, All is well, Sekelo Wado, Matthikatte Stars, Kudla Warriors, Infinity Dubai, Samari Warriors, Alemari, The Wolf Pack, One For All, V3 Amigos, White Wings, Derebail Titans, Falcons, Allu KFC, Tri Star, Girgit, Coastal Friends, and The Hunters. The event began at eight locations at 7 AM on November 27.
A well-planned hunt was competently managed through WhatsApp by sharing clues and ideas of the location, keeping in mind the pandemic and social distancing.
The task started with a riddle, testing the participants’ knowledge on the history of the UAE. The persons who gave the right answer were awarded with the details of the following tasks:
– Physical fitness challenge- Sharjah wanderer’s club
– Cooking challenge (Charumri)- Coastal delicacies Mangalurean Restaurant
– Daring challenge- Birds and animals’ market
– Work challenge (changing Tyre)- Al Sadah Auto spare parts garage
– Scavenger hunt- Al Noor Park
– Puzzle challenge (Arranging Keys of Computer)- AKD switchgear
– Selfie challenge
– Public Transport challenge- A time-based challenge, which involved the use of various modes of travel in Dubai.
Under the guidance and support of spiritual director of the Konkan Yuva, Fr Denis Saldanha, the organisation managed to bring the Konkani community together under one roof.
The valedictory ceremony for the event was held at 2.30 PM, chief guests for which were Proprietor of Reliable Fabrications and Middle East factory LLC James Mendonca and Proprietor of Merit freight shipping Joseph Mathias.
Konkan Yuva President Vivian Fernandes welcomed the gathering, James Mendonca and Joseph Mathias shared their experience with regard to the event and wished the Konkan Yuva success and assured their support for future events.
As this was the 15th anniversary, all past presidents of the Konkan Yuva- Ullas Fernandes, Mamtha Dsouza, Godwin Castelino, Joel Saldanha, Stephen Nazareth, Blasius Dsouza, Lee Almeida, and Josna Martis were felicitated. Delton Miranda thanked them for their dedicated service.
MC Vinette Lobo compered the event. Veena Pais thanked all the sponsors for their generosity. Lavita Dsouza thanked Referees: Blasius Dsouza, Deepak Machado, Prem Oscar Pais, Arun D’Almeida and Noel D’Alemida for the event.
Konkan Yuva Cultural secretary, Denzil Moras thanked everyone for making this event a great success.
