Dubai: The Novotel Hotel in Al-Barsha was splashed with bright colours as eleven beautiful ladies from different nationalities dressed themselves in elegant Chinese gowns to celebrate Chinese National Day on Sunday, October 2 in the uptown Dubai area.
Within the walls decorated by Chinese paintings on three sides and a view of the great outdoors on one side, the ladies donned traditional Chinese royal costumes, Qipao which is also recognized as the Chinese National Dress. The long silk dress with rich prints which the ladies wore is commonly called Cheongsam and Qipao in China. Some wore traditional headdresses while the others flaunted their styled natural hair.
The event was organised by Ovilia Fernandes and Dongxia Lee was hosted at Zhonghua Cultural and Language Training Center. The makeup which made the models look like dolls was done by Vivian and the moments were captured by Simon Wong.
Participants from seven different countries took part in the event. One participant each from Kenya, South Africa, Pakistan, Lebanon and Japan took part in the event. The others included three Vietnamese and three Indian ladies.
