Doha:Mangaloreans spread across the globe specially in the Middle East celebrated Monthi Fest in a typical Mangalorean style by sharing the new corns and then joining together for novem jevann at Al Ghazal hall on 13.9.2013.
Mr.John Richard Lobo, MLA of Mangalore ,was the chief guest of the grand function. Mr.Stany Alvares, Ex President of Mandd Sobhann was guest of honour. Programme started with a prayer song.
Mr. Sunil DSilva President of MCC Doha Qatar welcomed the guests and gave a overview about the activities of the club in the last one year like Annual Talent Show Competitions held on 17-5-2013 at ICC Ashoka Hall, Dabazo 2013 hel at 12-4-2013 at alghazal Hall and also gave details about the activities to be conducted this year like MCC Ladies open throw ball tournament on 31st Oct and 1 st Nov 2013, Soad 4 International with Mandd sobhann etc.
Medical professionals from Mangalore, presently working in Qatar were honoured for their relentless service to humanity. The doctors who got honoured by chief guest Mr.J R Lobo, MLA Mangalore are as follows Dr. Ashwin DSilva MBBS,MS,MRCS , Dr Glen Fernandes MBBS MD,Dr.Atlantic Douza, MBBS,CABMS,Dr.Charmaine DSouza, MBBS,MD,MRCOG, MRCPG (Int), Dr. Sonia Sequeira Fernandes, MBBS, Dr.Ivan Dsouza MBBS,MD, Dr.Ranjan Maxim Mathias MBBS , MD, Dr Oniell Fernandes MBBS , MD, Dr. Aletta Fernandes, BDS,MDS.
Students who secured 90% and above and those who excelled in sports were recognized and felicitated during the celebrations .They are namely Vena Rhea Castelino, Dylan alaster DSouza, shawn DSouza, Bresly Danthy, Riya Tellis, Nikitha Dsouza, Christopher Jude Pinto, Hazel Tellis, rohit Dsouza, and dorina Esther Saldanha.
Chief Guest JR Lobo thanked all the Mangaloreans and people in abroad for their support in the development activities and thanked one and all for his historical win in the Karnataka Asembly elections. He shared his vision to take Mangalore to the next level and making a model city , a number 2 city of Karnataka. Mr.Prakash Noronha, explained the achievements of Mr. Lobo in his long career and he was felicitated with a shawl and momento on behalf of the MCC club and members.
There was a CD release of Roshan Belman.The Programme was ended with some dance,songs by MCC members and with food prepared at home for all.
