Dubai: MIND stands for ‘Moving in New Direction’. MIND is an organization that is heading towards charity and help for poor children’s education back in India;
With this noble cause, MIND celebrated its first Annual day celebration along with Nativity feast at Wide range restaurant, Karama-Dubai.
Founder of Team MIND Clevan Martis and Treasurer Novel Almeida hosted the programme; the welcome speech was given by Team MIND Advisor Sebastian Lobo.
The programme commenced with the traditional celebration of the Nativity of Mother Mary, Children joyfully offered flowers to mother Mary, when everyone got together and sang the traditional Konkani Hymn “Sakkad Sangatha Melyann” and “Moriyyek Hogolsiyan” Thereafter, blessed Novem (New Harvest) in milk was served to all. Children were offered sweets.
Fortunately, it was on the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi, which made the occasion a triple celebration. A welcome dance was performed by Josephine and Vandana.
President Peter D’Souza addressed the gathering and read out the annual report and the achievement of Team MIND in the year 2015-16 The New core committee for the year 2015-16 was announced by Peter D’Souza. He was assisted by Evan.
The elected representatives are: President Peter D’Souza, Vice president Livinston, Secretary Josephine Pinto, Treasurer Novel Almeida, Auditor Santhosh Noronha, Ladies wing Secretary and Cultural Secretary Vandan Salian Kotian, Spiritual Secretary Flavy Martis, Media representative Ritesh Pinto, Data Controller Sweeta Pinto, Sports Secretary Amith Castelino and Advisors Sebastian Lobo and Monica D’souza
The cultural programme continued with variety and fusion dances which were performed by Rosanne, Joanne, Joylin, Josephine, Vandana and Aloma. A hilarious skit was performed by Clevan, Novel, Ritesh, Sweeta and Ruby.
Various spot games, Housie housie and Raffle draw were conducted. A traditional vegetarian meal was served to all. Vote of thanks was given by the President Peter D’souza.
Team MIND has just begun their journey towards a great cause of education and they look forward for support from Indian society in Dubai and other Emirates.
