Dubai, Feb 17: On Friday New Mark T10 Cricket Tournament was held at the Hamriya Grass Ground where at a wonderful and cool evening, Desert King beat Al Manal in the finals of the, Sharjah to win the handsome New Mark Trophy. The target was 128 runs in their allotted 10 overs but Al Manal scored only 97 runs and Desert King win handsomely by 30 runs.
There were 13 teams taken part in the day and night tournament they are: Chilly Willy,Weststar Shipping, Abbas, Unicon, Desert King, Al Manal, Gourmet, Al Matar CC, Eagles, Al Futtaim, Transguard, Global distribution and Stallions.
Earlier Semi Final was played between Unicon v/s Al Manal (winner – Al Manal) and Desert King v/s Transguard (winner-Desert King ). Final match started at sharp 6.00 pm. Closing ceremony and prize distribution ceremony held at 8 pm.
Atheeq of Desert King was declared man of the series, Zakeer of Desert King man of the match, Ayub of Al Manal best batsman and Salman of Desert King adjudged best bowler of the finals.
The tournament was inaugurated by Noel D’Almeida, Event Organizer of New Mark Cricket.
The beauty of the entire cricket tournament was the perfect support and cooperation from all the teams that took part. Yet another feature of the grand tournament was the attractive prize distribution ceremony where the finalists were given attractive trophies and medals including the prize money.
A special feature of the tournament was some fine nonstop commentary by Rafeeq from Pakistan which kept the crowd amused throughout the match.
