Tulukoota UAE to organise Tulu Parba on October 9; Logo launched

Dubai: The logo of the 25th Bolli Tulu Parba cultural extravaganza to be organised by the Tulukoota UAE on the 9th of October was launched on September 22 at the Dubai Fortune Plaza Hotel auditorium.

The logo was launched by Alwyn Pinto, President of Mangalore Konkans in the presence of committee members, while Shaan Tours chief, Prashanth Acharya unveiled the invitation of the Bolli Parba.

B K Ganesh Rai, art director who designed the logo  complimented the organizers and wished all success for the celebration.

UAE Tulukoota general secretary Krishnaraj Tantri welcomed the members and explained in detail about Tulu Parba celebration. Treasurer Daya Kirodiyan and media representatives were present.

UAE Tulukoota, on the occasion of its silver jubilee celebrations, will host a cultural extravaganza on October 9 at Dubai Al Nasar Leisureland. More than 3000 tuluvas are expected to attend the programme, he said.

Dr. Veerendra Hegde will be the chief guest. Dr B R Shetty, Ronald Colaco, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Janaki Brahmavar will also be present among the guests, he added.

The enthsiastic audience was informed to great applause, that Comedy King Devdas Kapikad and his group will entertain the audience. Magician Ganesh Kudroli, Prashanth Devadiga and team will entertain by playing Saxophone, Jasmitha Vivek and team will also entertain the audience with their dance performances.

Dayanand Kathalsar will compere the programme.

UAE Tulukoota

UAE Tulu Koota was established in the metro during 1987 by the visionary Chandrashekar Shetty Siddakatte with the objective of promoting Tulu and its distinct culture, and Umesh Nantoor who had the dream of sustaining Indian culture including Tulu – Kannada culture in the oil rich UAE.  Over the years, it has emerged as major hub of cultural splendor.

The natives of Tulunadu belonging to Konkani, Kannada and Beary communities are harmoniously striving to project the glory of Tulunadu in UAE.

Its significant that all these communities are selflessly striving to promote Tulu and its distinct culture by joining hands with UAE Tulu Koota. They  have been successfull in organizing Tulu singing competitions, Tulu Cup cricket tourneys, volleyball and throw ball tourneys, tug-of-war, weight lifting competitions, sports meet that has been patronized by the natives working in UAE.

Yakshagana, the heroic art of Tulunadu, theater, folk art, dance recital, fancy dress, mimicry, musical concerts etc  which revives the cultural sense among the natives in UAE.  Nonetheless, it has become an oasis of entertainment with local flavor in the desert country.

Tulu Koota has felicitated distinguished personalities: Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dr Rajkumar, T Ramesh Pai, Professor magician Shankar, Amruta Someshwar, N Tingalaya, Richard Castelino, K N Tailor, Kumble Sundar Rao, Sheni Gopalkrishna Bhat, Mijar Annappa, Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, Sadanand Suvarna, Manorama Madwaraj, Peter Lewis, Sandalwood actor Ambarish, Sumalata, Dayanand Bangera, Anand Bolar, Wilfy Rebimbus, Vasant Bangera, Dhananjay Kumar, Devdas Kapikad, Navin D Padil and others.

Tulu Koota is surging ahead with the collaboration of B R Shetty and veterans of community in UAE.

‘Tulu Parba’ is hosted once in two years by Tuluvas residing in the UAE under the banner of UAE Tulu Koota-Dubai.
